How to unlock a bike lock when the key is missing?

neoinmatrix asked:

I lost the key to my bike lock. It’s a standard U-shaped metal lock, but I couldn’t find any more information about it. When asked at a hardware store, they said they couldn’t make a new key and that the lock will have to be broken. Can anyone suggest how to go about breaking this lock? I **** to see my own bike locked up on the backyard without being used.

Cars: If you get into an accident and the only damage is a cracked fender how bad was the accident?

October 12th, 2009 — 08:46 am
David B asked:

I am buying a 07 Monte Carlo LT. The man I am buying it from said it is a fun car to drive but he cracked the fender. The fender has been replaced but I’m a little concerned about the car.

How bad of an accident do you need to get into to ***** a fender.

Also Even though it was replaced cars are never the same after they have been in an accident.. Would you still buy this car, or search for another 07 Monte.

Thanks in Advance.

How do I know how much a car uses gas mileage?

August 21st, 2009 — 09:19 pm

First L asked:

I will be going to college soon and I am looking for a car that is economic and does not use a lot of gas (gas prices are expensive!!!). I want to know when buying a car what characteristics to look for in order to see if a car uses to much gas. I know that big trucks need a lot of gas often. But in a regular small car, what info should I need to know? A car that I looked at said that gas mileage was 34 mpg city/40 mpg hwy. What does this mean? Also, do I need to check the engine? For example, 1.5L I4, 16 valve, 106@6000 hp. What do I need to look for in order to save gas. What are the best cars right now that do not use much gas, of good quality, and economic?

I sent in my car to the local nissan dealership to have a mass air flow sensor replaced (and some other repairs totalling $800). They told me it would take two days. It turns out they have to order the part from Japan and it will take up to 2 weeks. Are they obligated to give me a rental if I ask for it?

I heard it’s good to have a car from a good car company that after time will still have parts for your old car. Does anyone know which car company is the best in this standard? I think local mechanics would know best. I plan on getting a car and stick with it for a long time.
Thank you in advance for your help

How would my car sound or do if the chip in the key is broken?

Happy Gurl asked:

We’ve tried all sorts of things to get the car to run, it wants to start and everything is in good condition, but the car won’t start. We are down to the fuel pump or the chip in the key being broken. The gauges don’t even budge either and I know I have gas in the car and an excellent battery and nothing flickers when I try to start the car, But the two lights that show up are the key light symbol and the fuel symbol. Its a 2000 Jeep Grand Cheeroke Limited.

Out of all the luxury cars, which car is the most expensive to maintain and repair?
I was just wondering because I currently own a ‘98 Mercedes C230, and I’m trying to figure out if I should keep it or buy something else. BUT I need to know if it would be the best option because I might be putting more money into a newer car (any) , but I do want another luxury-type car. Any suggestions?

I have a 1996 Grand Am SE, whenever I go to start the car up, there is like a rattling noise under the hood, it sounds kind of like something is trying to start up..I have no idea what it could be. Any ideas on what could be wrong? The noise only lasts a couple seconds, once the car is started up, it runs perfectly fine.

My girlfriend has a 2002 Hyundai Accent with about 130,000 miles. We took it to a car wash. After leaving the car wash, the check engine light started flashing and the engine shook. After about 15 minutes the shaking stopped and the car drove normally again. This happened about 3 weeks ago and there have been no issues since then. What would cause her car to do this?

Car service- whats the average mileage a car should travel in between services?

May 25th, 2009 — 07:56 am
car
Christine asked:

I got my car serviced on Monday. Its currently at just under 39,000km on the clock. The garage said I’ve to bring it back when it gets to 53,000km (32900 miles) or March 09. This gives it only a difference of 14k km (8700 miles). This does not seem like much to me. My car is 2006 Seat Leon.
Am I right or wrong to think this is a low number of km in between services?

Blossom asked:

Only asking because my b/f has something wrong with his car battery, it often won’t start. He is working away and coming back at the weekends, and every Sunday he has to use jump leads to start his car on the drive, and again at the petrol station after turning the engine off to get petrol. He has a new beetle turbo, and I have a renault clio 1.2. He says it doesn’t do damage to my battery but I disagree, can any one clarify? Thanks.
