Kohler Engines
If you know engines, you know the name Kohler.
You can trace the beginnings of Kohler engines back to 1920, when the Kohler Automatic Power and Light 1500-watt Model "A" generator set was introduced. This engine was designed to serve rural markets as it delivered 110-volt DC current and was powered by a Kohler four-cylinder water-cooled cast iron gasoline engine.

In 1939, work began on the development of liquid-cooled diesel engines. These engines ranged from single cylinder 5 hp to four-cylinder 20 hp. In 1948, Kohler started focusing on manufacturing engines by opening a small engine factory and introducing the first "stand alone" Kohler engines for industrial applications. Just three years later, Kohler's K90 cast iron single cylinder air-cooled engine went into production. Throughout the fifties, Kohler added to its K-Series engines and in 1959 introduced the first of the four "interchangeable" models with common mounting foot pattern and crank height. In 1965, the company introduced Automatic Compression Release (ACR) for use on Kohler engines. This new technology allowed for more effortless recoil starts. That is the company history of Kohler but there is much more to their products than the history.
Kohler believes that their engines are the strongest and most dependable in the business and customer comments back up that claim. "We have worked with Kohler Engines for nearly 25 years, and during that time we have never found a company that offers the same high level of product support as Kohler". "We test our applications with other engines regularly, but for the past 28 years, there has been no question: Kohler is our number one gas-engine supplier".

Because Kohler makes a wide variety of engine sizes, the applications are found in many places from lawn mowers to construction sites. Horsepower starts at 4hp all the way up to 30 hp power plants, in both air and liquid cooled designs for whatever application the consumer needs. Of course, with the reliability of a product from a company that has been successfully serving the public for 80 years, each engine is backed with a full warranty and full after sale service.
| ... generators use Kohler engines because they need their customers to be satisfied ... |
Kohler expects that its customers will be there for the long term. Therefore, Kohler Engines has developed a comprehensive training program that allows purchasers to stay abreast of new technology, troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures. So many manufactures of other products like go-karts and generators use Kohler engines because they need their customers to be satisfied with their branded products. They depend on Kohler and have the same confidence that consumers have come to expect from Kohler engines.
