Jeep Stuff

My brother is one of those guy’s that is very loyal to brands and products that impress him. He drinks Coke, never Pepsi. He eats only Lays potato chips, and he would never drive anything but a Jeep. He is so loyal to the Jeep brand that over the years people have been giving him all kinds of jeep stuff. This drivers my sister-in-law crazy because the jeep stuff does not fit in with the décor that she is trying to establish in their home.

My brother and his wife are very different from each other. He is the kind of person that gets along well with everyone and he has an enthusiasm for life that attracts people to him. His wife on the other hand does not get along well with most people and is not very pleasant to be around. I think that this is why so many people give my brother jeep stuff, they know it irritates his wife!

After several years of his collection of jeep stuff accumulating she finally packed up most of it in boxes and placed it in their garage. The articles included everything from posters to bumper stickers and other paper products.  There was also an assortment of cups, key chains and several T-shirts. People continue to give him jeep stuff, but not to the extent that they had a few years ago.

Several months ago my sister-in-law was bidding on a vase on an on-line auction site. As she was going through the items up for bid she noticed some jeep stuff.  She started looking more closely when she noticed that the bids were quite high on a number of the items. One jeep badge in particular had a very high bid and the bidding was still opened on it. She thought that there was a badge like the one up for bid in the box of jeep stuff in the garage. She wrote down the description and went to find the box in the garage.

... I have even seen her drink out of the jeep mug that she had packed away for years ...

She found that my brother had two badges like those on the auction site in his collection. This was part of the first Jeep merchandise that he had collected back when he was a teenager. Now that my sister-in-law knows how much some of the merchandise is worth she is starting to create displays around their home.  In my brother’s office she has placed most of his oldest jeep stuff on the book cases behind his desk. I have even seen her drink out of the jeep mug that she had packed away for years. I think that it is funny that now she proudly displays the same items that had been banished to the garage. My brother told me that he was glad that she bought that ugly vase on the internet and saw the Jeep products for sale because he can once again look at his collection.
