How big is the smallest streetlegal motorcycle?

water_skipper asked:

How big is the smallest streetlegal motorcycle? I mean literally a motorcycle for a midget to ride. I was watching the movie Goldmember and Minime was riding on a motorcycle with Doctor Eivel. I thought it would be funny if Minime could ride by himself. Are there any midget sized motorcycles that can be legally driven on the roads. I’ve got to see that!

There are some mini motorcycles called pocket rockets and there are some that can be registered for street use. Pocket rockets, super pocket rockets which are a lil bit bigger and just regular mini moto. It definitely depends in what state you live in too.

Most states require what is called braking horse power and that eliminates the small bikes from most roads.

I think the only requirment is it to go 45 miles and hour and have like mirros brakes and insurance in CA im not sure…but pocket bikes in CA are illegal…

I am not from the States, so I don’t know. But pocket bikes are illegal to go on roads in some country, in fact a lot of countries. They will never issue you a license plate for that kinda bike…

The smallest street legal motorcycle I know of is the Yamaha YSR50. It’s a minature sport bike, they only made it for the state 87 to 92. I have a 89…stock does about 50mph. There hard to find now though.

If u want ot find some small motorcycles in America, it is a little difficult. You know most of the bikes we see on the roads are large ones. I advise u to get on a site called bikerkiss.com to get some useful info. There are many motorcyclists there. I think some of them will give u some good advices.
