its more commonly called a scaffholders level. A small level about 10 long, Stabilla make one.

it’s simply a type of ‘spirit level’ usually with three bubble chambers (horizontal/vertical/45 degree angle), as for maintainence simply keep it clean and try not to drop it or break the bubble chambers as it is expensive to buy the bubbles these days!

It is a small level about 10 it tapers at both ends to maintain it you ***** into a wood block2 screws about 9 apart put the level on thesescrews and level it up when level reverse the level if is still reading level it is ok
on more expensive ones there are ajusting screws under the cover plate of the bubble
bubbles can be replaced but are not eaily obtained

    hope this helps

a boat level is just a small level. in building bricks or blocks,it is used to level the first block on every course on a corner. as you build the corners first and line between them

It is a normal level that gets its name from its shape, which, in plan form, is that of a boat. Normally there is nothing you can do to them. If damaged, throw it away and buy a new one.
