Best Hybrid Car

February 25th, 2009 — 04:14 am

Best Hybrid Car Video

Do you know which is the best hybrid car? It’s pretty difficult to point at a vehicle and claim that is the best hybrid car? Well, if you really want compare unique car features, let me tell you this is something very difficult to do. Just think about the tough fight in the car industry. All producers aim at one thing only: to design superior ecological vehicles and thus best hybrid car models.

Several factors indicate the candidates for the title of “best hybrid car” but with an ever changing market, chances are that the first position will not always be occupied by the same model. Fuel consume efficiency, horsepower, price of the car, design and utilities are just a few of the criteria by which to appreciate and give a rating to a hybrid car model.

The concern for the fuel consume efficiency of the best hybrid car is justified given the ever increasing oil price and the burden put on the environment by toxic emissions. Well a hybrid car first and foremost aims at reducing fuel consume. Therefore the best hybrid car, from this perspective at least, should be functioning more on electric power than on gas, and even when the regular engine is in full swing, the average gas need must remain below that of a regular car.

No matter the engine combination, the best hybrid car should be capable to lead to a gas consume rate that would justify its high initial cost. Some of the best hybrid car materializations, in this line of thought, might be considered Toyota Prius and Honda Civic, that have systems with high fuel economy rates thanks to the contribution of the electric motor.

Statistically speaking, the size is another factor to differentiate between the aspirants to the title of “best hybrid car”. Thus, you might like to know that the best hybrid car in the small, town-use category, or maybe the mid-size hybrid sedans are more adequate for your needs. Though luxury hybrid cars are far more costly and difficult to maintain, there is a special market segment they address.

Depending on personal subjective preferences, the best hybrid car is bought after learning some technicalities from the green line of car production too. Thus, you should consider the cost of replacing certain equipment items, governmental tax credits, fuel economy, warranty, battery charging system and so on. There are other technical details that also need clarified, but that is the expert’s part.

Does anyone actually believe that a bike is faster off a standing start than a car?

February 24th, 2009 — 04:07 am
bike
Middenraker asked:

That daft wee box at traffic lights for bikes to get priority when the light go green. Why? I have never seen a bike out run a car. With 10 yards of the lights the bike is causing an obstruction to following vehicles and that surely defeats the point of allowing cyclists to be there in the first place?
J Bird we are talking about a push bike here. Motorbikes i don`t have a problem with.
Guys the wee box at the front of the lights has nothing to do with safety. A cyclist is as safe in the middle or back of the queue as he is at the front. Our political masters have tried to sell these daft wee boxes on the principle that cyclists are faster off the mark at lights than a car driver. This isn`t so because within seconds the cars have caught up and the cyclist does nothing but CAUSE congestion. It wouldn`t surprise me if one day a cyclist is run over moving away from one of these boxes as the ensuing cars try to manoevre around the cyclist.

Benefits of Hybrid Cars

February 24th, 2009 — 12:41 am

The cost of fuel and the damage it brings to our environment has become very rampant, and because of that, hybrid cars are presently considered as very beneficial to the preservation of the environment. It is a logical move that is necessary to sustain a habitable environment and keep costs low and less taxing on the pockets. It works to preserve the environment and lifts the burden of having to fuel it endlessly with expensive fuel.

A hybrid car combines an electric motor and gasoline engine to provide sufficient power to the vehicle with least fuel usage and fewer emissions. They are also far more fuel-efficient than purely gas-powered cars, and far more practical for everyday use than purely electric-powered cars.By using both electricity as well as gas, the vehicle pollutes the environment almost negligibly and helps save a lot on fuel consumption. With enough power to be driven on the freeway, it is amazing how these cars can also be fuel savers!

Hybrid cars need recharging but all you need to do is to plug it into an electric socket.Coasting and braking can use much power but this power is automatically derived by the car from the gasoline engine. The gasoline engine cars are not as advantageous as the hybrid cars; here are the reasons why the hybrid cars have an edge.

The main reason behind the depletion of the ozone layer is because of the greenhouse effect which is caused due to the heavy amounts of carbon dioxide released in the environment by the cars.If a vehicle consumes more fuel, it is natural that it will produce more carbon dioxide.Hybrid cars use as little fuel as possible and use more of electricity, a resource that is not known to have any detrimental repercussions on the environment.

If you buy a hybrid car, you get tax rebates; that spells out economical benefits for you.Hybrid cars can maintain higher values at resale; therefore if you selling a hybrid car, you will probably get a higher price than what you bought it for.Since the hybrid cars get their power from two different sources, the engines are smaller in size.Though the engines are small, when combined with the electrical power supply, they can provide a very satisfactory performance.

The technology of the hybrid car is a very good answer to the present day problem of increasing pollution due to vehicle exhausts.Hybrid cars have a great edge over the conventional cars in saving the environment because they use less fuel. You can also invest with your hybrid car; though the prices of these cars are really quite high, making them unaffordable to most people, the fact that they are good investments are bringing the customers in. While many of us can’t afford to get a hybrid car due to financial hardship, we can always check out Aston Martin pics to cheer us up.

Audi R8 V10.

February 23rd, 2009 — 12:00 am

Initially there was talk that Audi might not be allowed to release the V10 version as it will interfere with sales of the Lambo Gallardo.

The Audi team has really stepped up the latest version of their R8 to be viable competition with the other big boys on the circuit. With 525 horses, the car is on a serious mission. Perhaps just lacking in terms of souding like a power infused motor.

This ultra powerful version of the R8 is capable of flying from zero to sixty mph in less than four seconds, but what makes it an even better alternative to the Porches, Lamborghinis and Ferraris of the world is that the power it brings is so nicely complemented by the incredible handling that you experience behind the wheel.

How Much?

The price tag on the 2010 Audi R8 has jumped almost as much as the quality of the car and at nearly one hundred and fifty thousand dollars the price is another close point of comparison between the new R8 and the Porsche 911.R8 V10 has now the power punch to challenge the legendary 911, F430 and Gallardo.  Of course at one hundred and fifty thousand it is far from practical for even the wealthy, but this car is by far the most practical of any of the super-cars. R8’s main attraction is the V10 engine which means those who liked the V8, will finally have their wish of the R8 unleashed.

The Look

As should be expected from a car with such a lofty price tag, the 2010 Audi R8 is beautiful both inside and out.The first R8 was good enough to earn car of the year status in some countries, an achievement not so many sports cars can boost about.  The 2010 Audi R8 is all sleek lines and smooth contours on the outside and beautifully spacious leather interior with seats that it’s hard not to feel comfortable in.

The 2010 Audi R8 is most likely the only one of the super-cars that has enough space to stow enough luggage for a week long holiday with nearly seven cubic feet of storage available, and the space that is occupied is loaded with features you’d be hard pressed to find in a car with a smaller price tag.

There are any number of options in order to accessorize or customize the new R8, but in reality you don’t really need any of them – the stock model comes complete with heated seats, a GPS navigation system, an incredible sound system, automatic air and a built in alarm.

The 2010 R8 is off the charts when it comes to power, handling and performance but it also gets incredibly high marks in both safety and design further cementing its place at the top of the list for anyone who wants to own a super-car but has needs for an automobile that can be driven every day.

The best choice of car for a teenager

February 22nd, 2009 — 02:11 am

In todays financial climate it seems quite a sensible move to buy a second hand car. There is no reason why they should not be reliable if you buy them from a trusted source or do your homework thoroughly on the car before you commit to buying. It can also make excellent financial sense in that as soon as a new car is driven off the forecourt it starts to lose money, whereas a second-hand car has already made this loss.

When you take the plunge and buy used you can usually afford to go for a more upmarket model than if you were buying a new car.

However maybe a disadvantage to buying used would be that financing is more expensive although this could be offset by cheaper insurance rates. If however you prefer to lease a car then a used car is not a viable option. You could also be missing out on the latest gadgets and safety devices and I suppose there is nothing better than feeling that you are the first owner of a brand spanking new car!

Let’s face it a lot of the first time buyers of cars are youngsters who really cannot afford the expense of a new car.

One of the most popular cars for teens is the Honda Civic.  The Civic is one of the best small sporty cars around and is quite reasonably priced. This car is fuel efficient and is extremely safety orientated with antilock brakes, front seat side airbags and side curtain airbags which are standard on all models. It also has a body shell designed to withstand an impact with a much heavier vehicle. There is the choice of a jazzy coupe or a more sensible sedan.

The Mazda 3 has earned itself a reputation for being economical and fun to drive. It has plenty of power, good looks and excellent handling.

Another favourite is the Ford Focus because they are relatively cheap plus they have a system which allows the use of ipods and cell phones with voice commands which mean the driver can keep their eyes fixed on the road. The sporty 2 door Focus coupe is popular as it offers the same amount of back seat and trunk space as the four door version.

The car that the teen driver will probably be best suited to must be the safest and also the most economical to drive.

Yes I could get bike carriers for the back but I want something more secure. It is also quicker to put it in the back rather than fiddling with straps.

I had a look at a Peugot 407 yesterday but the opening looked very restrictive. Anyone with any experience of this?

Read These Practical Guidelines For Used Boat Owners

February 18th, 2009 — 03:05 am

Undoubtedly, getting a new or used house boat should be one of the more exciting experiences in your life. Typically, people who purchase this expensive toy want to call their friends and loved ones over to demonstrate what they have bought. There are some things that just have to be done first, however, and if you neglect those chores in favor of hurrying out onto the water, you could be very sorry.

Celebrations might be more fun than paperwork, but the latter is definitely necessary if you are going to be spending time boating. You’ll need to have three main sets filled out:

First, you have the registration and title. Any outstanding taxes should be paid next. Thirdly, you must get some type of insurance. If you haven’t taken the proper steps with paperwork, your brand new dream can turn into a nightmare. Once the paperwork is finished, inviting your friends over would still be a mistake. The stage where you can actually be good enough to impress your friends will take time, so you’ll have to take your time and practice heavily on your new boat.

For first time used house boat owners, a short safety course is definitely recommended. Even if you have previous boating experience, this vessel is new and different from the other ones. That first trip should be with a boating expert, so that they can assist you through the basics. Maneuvers such as docking and turning in tight spaces require practice, and mistakes can be expensive! A good boat operator will be completely comfortable at the helm before they take on any additional passengers.

You have one further item to consider, even though you could now take friends onto the water with you. Most new boat owners want to protect the considerable investment through making sure their toy is properly looked after. You may or may not take into account exactly this item that you have purchased will be stored, or how. You’ll need to keep your new item protected from the elements, of course, so that you do not have a big expensive decaying toy sitting in storage. Maintenance takes a lot of time, effort and money so preventing problems from occurring is much easier than fixing them, so get into good habits from the start.

Correct cover purchase and attachment for your new houseboat is very important. In getting a boat cover, you want to sort through the different colors and sizes and get one that is custom made for your boat. There are also several different fabrics to choose from, and this choice also makes a huge difference. Through hard work and diligent chores, you will experience much enjoyment and fun out of boating. To find tons of used houseboats for sale search the web.

The disadvantages of owning a car

February 16th, 2009 — 03:49 am

Over the last couple of weeks the UK has been hit with some of the most extreme weather we’ve had in ages. The first week of February saw the heaviest snowfall we’ve seen for 18 years, causing hundreds of schools to close and leaving over 6 million people stranded unable to get to work. Most public transport was cancelled and many roads were deemed unsafe due to the icy conditions.

The continuing bad weather is a real worry for drivers everywhere, with an increased risk of accidents on the icy roads as well as all sorts of further problems caused by the extreme conditions. There have been a number of incidents of sudden heavy snowfall trapping drivers in their cars and causing them to have to be dug out, while in other parts of the country the melting snow has combined with heavy rains and severe flood warnings have been issued.

All this is bad news for car owners, not just because of the heightened personal risk of driving on the roads, but also because a damaged car can be a costly business. With the recession affecting us all, most people really couldn’t afford to splash out on a new car if something were to happen to theirs. And that’s the real problem with owning a car. It’s brilliant until something goes wrong, then it can just become really expensive. You might think it won’t happen to you, that you’re a safe driver who won’t get into that sort of situation. But as the last few weeks have proved, you can’t always help what happens, and you certainly can’t predict it.

The problem is that once you have paid for a car it becomes entirely your responsibility. Then the car is more likely to go wrong the older it gets, especially in extreme weather conditions, and the more money you’ll have to shell out when it does. And even when you get it fixed, it still won’t be worth half what you paid for it in the first place as a car only ever decreases its value over time.

The people who manage to avoid these worries are those who opt for a car contract hire deal instead of buying a car outright. It doesn’t mean the car’s not yours, it just means that you pay for it in regular monthly instalments and often you get extra benefits thrown in like road tax and servicing costs. So if something did happen, you wouldn’t have to pay the whole bill yourself. And the best thing is that when the contract hire expires after a couple of years you can trade the car in for a new one, meaning you’ve always got the latest updated model. And as you’ll always have a new car, it won’t have had time to wear out, and is less likely to break down in the first place!

Use These 5 Super Gas Saver Tips Today

February 16th, 2009 — 03:49 am

There are three things now certain in life, death, taxes and rising gas prices.  The cool thing is, we can do something about the rising fuel cost’s.  Did you know that you can become a super gas saver by utilizing key gas saving tips?  Listed below are a few key fuel saving tips that you can utilize right now and begin saving immediately.

You can start off by checking the air pressure in your car tires.  So many never take the time to do this and it takes just a moment to do.By keeping an eye on the air pressure you'll be lowering the wear and tear on your tires thus making them more efficient.  The more workload you put on your car the more fuel it will burn.

The next step involves planning how your car is to be utilized.  I know you have been in a situation where you just get home and remember you needed something else.  In most cases this can be avoided with a little planning.  Here’s what to do, on Sunday make a complete list of where you need to go the following week so you’ll be ready.  If you plan wisely, you’ll be able to take less “needed” trips out in your car.

The third tip is the correct use of your cars cruise control.  Optimum efficiency is obtained when your car utilizes cruise control.  It is a good idea to read your cars owner’s manual to correctly use this feature.  It is not a good idea to keep turning your cruise control on and off as this will mimic the acceleration and braking of daily driving.

The fourth step is to clean out your car of any excess weight. If your anything like me then your car is much like a second home.Over time, our cars become cluttered from items that we put in a not too often take out on a daily basis.  Give your car a thorough cleaning and take out anything that is not pertinent to that day’s needs.  At the end of everyday, take out what you bring in to keep the weight and clutter down to a minimum.

Our closing tip is to accelerate gradually and focus on how we drive our cars.  We are not teenagers anymore who drive recklessly and without regard for gas consumption.  By driving aggressively your causing your engine to work harder which burns up more fuel.I am not saying that you have to drive like a blue hair but just keep an eye on your driving behavour.

The preceding were five super gas saver tips that you can implement immediately and start saving on gas.  If you are still not satisfied with the savings then you can look for an alternative like hybrid cars.  If you can’t afford a new hybrid then there is one other alternative. Were you aware of the fact that you can transform your vehicle into a hybrid? It can be done.  If you really want to save a ton on gas then this is just what your looking for.
